Honoring Solana Henneberry
We are deeply saddened by the loss of a dear friend and champion of our kids, Solana Henneberry, who lost her battle with cancer at the age of 44 in early 2017. Solana was part of the Technology Resource Center in its earliest days, helping to mold and structure the international model it has become today. She was one of the first teachers in the groundbreaking AAC class, and much of its present success is due to her leadership. She focused her energy towards creating adaptive learning interventions for some of our most severely-challenged students. She left Marin to teach another pilot AAC class in the East Bay, but she continued to collaborate with the TRC through common students and in professional circles.
We are reminded of the amazing people who have contributed to the success of our children, and the cutting-edge programs that have truly helped shape the future of special education.
